Why would a 'Good' garage check for a cracked cylinder head by eye? Does the fuel pump stop running after about 3 mins with ignition in pos 2 without starting the engine? If not then it is leaking past the injector seals I would say. If not then probably a cracked head If mine 'ran away' I...

I also used my oil can as a means of getting engine oil into the essential bits before turning engine over T

As Shifty said they are E14 for the head bolts. Make sure you get 1/2" drive version along with a decent 1/2" Torque Wrench Cheers T

I had LR nylo ones first and these tore/split over 18 months. Now have the heavy duty Britpart ones on the front and the seem great. So that's 2 Britpart items on my motor, which is probably enough :) T

There is no harm in cleaning the wire as part of routine servicing, but it has never helped me fix a troublesome one on any car. I would get the Isopropyl Alcohol Aerosol from somewhere like Maplins - Worth a shot T
