Haha, no I managed to buy it on my own. Last owner had had it 15 years. I use it for taking the dogs about and it’s been a good workhorse. It’s only done just over 90000 mls. I love it. I can park where I want and not worry too much if someone dings it.

Thank you Nodge. It’s a freelancer 1 petrol 1998 and has had propshaft removed. I think the hill descent switch is in the gearstick, just reading up on it now. Looks like one of my jobs for tomorrow....plus passenger side window not working lol.

Having read through this post can I ask Where is the Hill descent switch located, also where is the brake light switch. You’ll have gathered I have the downhill light on. By coincidence I also had a rear brake light bulb out. Changing it, the downhill light is still on so I’ll look at the other...

When I first got my landy I didn't realise the propshaft had been removed. I posted on here asking if it would be worth returning the vehicle to 4WD or would I get away with it two wheel drive and snow tyres as I had a brand new set available. The general opinion was it would not be any more use...

Thank you all for the input. Looks like everyone is in favour of reinstating the propshaft. I'm going to drive the car as is for the next few weeks to see how it goes. It's been in to the garage who reported the brake lines have been replaced with flexihoses and the car appears to be well cared...

well I've had my Landy for a week. It's only had 2 owners from new, the second owner had it for 15 years and it's been regularly serviced. Its had the head gasket done. It's covered 78000 miles and we have all the old MOTs to back this up. I contacted the garage who serviced the car to find out...

Thank you for you reply. I have a full set of these winter tyres brand new, bought for a BMW that was sold before they were fitted. With my Freelander now being 2 wheel drive I thought fitting these might help in the winter.
