Would second the mineral oil,when i first got mine was told to use semi and it used oil all the time . Changed to mineral and no more oil loss and change it every 6 months regardless of milage.

Have a google for fabrication firms in your area as must be several general engineering ones about , and most will be far better than most garages .

Totally forgot about this post ,i brought a 1991 defender 200tdi and as yet no major problems.

Just search breckland on facebook also others on there. Play day today at dersingham think norfolk 4x4 are running it . As for places to play there is a place at beeston that clubs use or dersingham and both are pay sites .. Also breckland are running one at freethorpe in march.

Belong to breckland landrover club green lane trips most months/weekley pub meets also Rtvt/ccvt and tyro and comp events.

As mentioned above get repair sections and do it yourself or if not there is a company that do them for around a £100 per door.

Hi point taken,all levels checked and all ok . Suppose what i meant was that if seals etc are maintained and looked after then they should remain oil tight.

Why if they are maintained right they should not leak never understand people who allways say its a landrover its meant to leak.

Hi what would you expect to pay for a good condition 200 tdi 1991 chassis and all running gear in good condition and engine on 140,000. Its the best one i have seen and also no oil leaks at all.
