Thank you. I’m going to put on a spare starter when I find it in the shed - it’s still an original Lucas so will give that a service and see how it gets on.

So...gotta love the series 3 esp when it throws an issue at you. My most recent is starting. When it does start it's great, loads of power etc. But recently after driving it it sometimes (once every two weeks) turns over really slowly like its...

Good morning - stripping down a suffix B Gearbox and the main shaft has a D stamped into it? I think this has been added due to the Suffix D gearbox having stronger internals if I'm not correct? Thank you Rich

Turners do quality head gasket sets def replace valve stem seals, I would also strip the valves and springs, rockers check for any damage and lap them in, inspect head for damage/ cracks etc and order parts once

Pretty sure I left the manifold on the head, be aware it's rather heavy to lift off.

I done mine last year as the valve stems were goosed. Ended up putting on a composite gasket and replacing some bushes on the cam shaft but all in all was a great experience. Even done a de-coke at the same time which all the pistons needed...

So found my old ‘real’ one (see pics) but it still has the crappy pressed in valves. Stripped it down and gonna fit to see if it’s an improvement.

Thank you, really useful. I’ve not looked inside my fuel tank for a while and not serviced the carb for over 5 years, filters all look fine ‘but’ I’ll take the hit and get a new OEM one from Paddocks. The know the lift pump fitted is a copy with...

Gun7534 I got a chance to fit the new oem fuel pump from Paddock Spares today and it has helped with starting. The clear carb fuel filter fills a lot quicker now. Last year a rusty fuel tank caused me a lot of carb issues so I slowly replaced...

Hi knowledgable folk, just trying to find out / gather ideas why my Series 3 2.25 fuel drains back so quick from the carb (Weber). Starts great in the morning from cold and if you leave it for 10-15 minutes when hot it'll start straight away...
