OK, I drove her down the street tonight and its running good :) I need to lube the drivetrain does anyone have a good thread on the maintenance?

Well I got it started :) but the oil cooler line was cut on the engine I put in so all the oil poured out on the floor :( but it didn't sound bad :) and I have another line I can put on. It just sucks that 3 quarts of oil just poured out on my garage floor.

Well its in and I'm ready to start it but the battery is low and I need to figure out where two of the ground wires go. One comes off the starter and one comes from the back of the head on the drivers side.

the plugs out of both motors where about .042 and the part stores (I called two) said .032 so I set them a loose .032 (about .032-.035). I will be pulling these after a few miles to see how they are burning so if it seems to be an issue i will re-gap them. well its ready to go in. it looks a...

Its a used engine. The wife ran the old one out of oil so I bought this lump. The breather is the stove pipe thing on the valve cover right? It is very dirty. I am swapping the distributor over. Is there a way to tell if I'm on the compression stroke with out the valve cover being off...

One side of the motor has got hot possibly? yeah I was thinking that but I couldn't figure out why. Do the heads look the same from the outside? yes I don't think its had a head change not sure though. i.e. have they the same level of oxidisation to the alloy? they look like...
