Thanks everyone! I have removed it. It was not as hard as I expected. It was only the thrid and second positions that were wired into it. I can drive it at last! Now I will come up with the new immobiliser system. I thought to have a secret switch or two.

Also, there is a this White/Red wire that is connected to the immobiliser. It is much thinner than the one on the ignition. Does anyone know what this is please? It goes off in the same spool of wires as the brown one from the ignition.

There are 4 wires from the ignition block, I cannot trace where the Red/White Wire goes? Could someone help with the answer please?

I have chased the wires. It looks like they only operate the electrics on the ignition. Is this correct for a 200tdi diesel?: Brown leads to Terminal 1 White leads to T2 White red to T3 The white/red has been cut and I cant find the other end. Where will that go? The white has been cut and...

WOW I did not think about the possibility of door switch and ignition sequence. I will research more now!! I know to re program it you need to open the door and introduce the red fob (the one I lost).

Hi, I am just wondering if anyone has installed a bank of switches into the dash of your defender? I have a 200tdi and was thinking that a few set of 3 would look nice and not so cluttered as a big centre console? Also my young son in the front seat would have some buttons to press on his side...
