It may help if I say its a Defender 110 of 1997 I've read a number of threads regarding the fuel and temp. gauges at zero. And thought I'd solved things simply with a new fuse --wrong so far. A bit of sequence of events, the gauges didnt work , but I didn't immediately change the fuse...

I've steam (for certain) coming into the cabin (defender 110) I'm sure its a leak from a hose. BUT 2 days ago the bonnet release handle in the cabin snapped (as it was old and brittle in the cold) so I can't get the bonnet open at the mo. can anyone give a diagnosis of the steaming problem?
