Sorry a 98 4.6l with dodgy liners

Thank you for the reply. I think I have located the breather on top of the gearbox. I will check it in the morning. The only thing I am worried about is that it was a sudden event... With no other symptoms as though something had "gone"....

BTW there have been no other symptons I can think of, no judder or rev spikes and the power seemed normal - i just looked behind and saw clouds of white smoke which was the oil leaking from the dipstick onto the engine!

Tahnks for the replies I have the rf unit uncovered. do i disconnect both blue and red/black terminals and what will I not be able to do once done ( apart from greatly increased battery life!!)

Thanks for your reply dogsbody - the battery is disconnected most of the time as there is an enormous battery drain somewhere which flattens the battery within a week of non use so I have the battery terminal off when not in use
