A little more ‘practical’ I guess!
I’m just looking for something small that I can put in the back to take along, without taking up too much cabin space. Also seen some fold-up step/stool things in Jeff’s emporium. Seem to be plastic, but will...
Yes - I’m considering those. I have a set in my basket at Jeff’s store 😉
Trouble is, at the moment they do not ‘stand off’, and so would lean against the car…
Something to ponder over winter perhaps… probably need to be something collapsible/extending that can stand-off from the roof rail and run down to the floor (to take most of the weight).
I’ll get the box from the shed and put it on over the...
Well that was truly past it's best, do you know the make of the pullet taken off, also it does not make sense if you supplied the belts for him not to change them while fitting a new crank pulley?
personally i would get them swapped out asap.
Thanks to everyone for the input, but please let's not get personal.
I appreciate the help from all angles and its good to have a different perspective going into things. I do understand there are repercussions as well as benefits to doing any...
I know, I know!
I forgot to take them when I did the rails the other day, then I thought I’d wait for the bars to arrive 😁
Now realising how high the roof box will be, and pondering how to actually load/unload the thing when it’s on there!!!
So, you’ve not actually lifted one either?
Ok, so you agree it can happen now?
Likewise. Or have you lifted an F2 now?
It’s a forum. We don’t need to offer ‘proof’ of everything - a lot of the help on here is based on learned and shared...
A lift kit has no effect on tyre size, as the suspension gets in the way of larger tyres, not the bodywork.
You can go about 10mm wider on the standard offset rims, as larger will cause rubbing on the strut tube.
LR did extensive testing and...
You really are a **** aren't you?
We have had members on here install lift kits. Everything is fine for a bit, then their drive shafts have gone.
So crawl back in to the hole you spend most your time before coming out and showing yourself for...
Yes, I know how the muddy mods lift kit works - thank you.
And I’m all grown up now, so know the difference between independent suspension and live axles 👍
Ok - you clearly believe that simply fitting a lift kit with no other changes would do...
Well, I did find one review about issues due to vehicles being lifted… even “riding worse on the road” after.
Wait… that was you.
So, simply fitting a lift kit can cause issues then?
Well spotted , After I came back from a test drive and then stated the rough running and smoke I hadn't actually lifted the bonnet before I came on the forum . Now I've been under the bonnet low and behold the Intercooler pipe had blown off due...
Why you getting all hot and bothered?
I know there are plenty of lifted FL2s about - I never said there wasn’t, did I?
And some will see no difference. And some will eat up other components quicker and end up replacing driveshafts and the like...
No, because I’ve never done it.
But a simple google search will tell you a lift kit, with no further modifications, will stress other parts.
Assume you have proof it doesn’t?
Stock tyres; Kind of answered that in post #2 on your thread here;

If you look on YouTube at Powerful UK, they fit a lift kit to an F2 and show you the...
SDD is the Land Rover system. It stands for Symptom Driven Diagnostics, and it requires a laptop plus a lead. I think it covers vehicles from 2006 onwards, and will do everything you want it to, if it can be done. That said, it’s not the easiest...
It was a steal at the price, unfortunately I couldn't stretch any further as we were desperate 🙄 I was searching for weeks, then found my GS fairly local and managed to get them to drop it even more so had to go with that, I was made redundant...
