Low key fob battery has pinged up now. Are the batteries just needed for remote CDL? Won't effect starting or owt.? Might be a couple of days until I can get new ones .
LEDs are often directional, the cheap kits are usually garbage. Please, PLEASE don't change it to blue, it'll look sh*te!
I'd stick with the proper bulbs, they go black over time anyway and with a fresh set of bulbs you'll probably be...
Replacing the motor didn't fix it, can't clear the pot fault so I unsoldered the pot off the blend motor kermie gave me and swopped that out with the newish pot fitted last year? Cant check them as my dvm has died, and that seems to have fixed it...
I've tested one of the motors you gave me with a 9v battery, spins nice and quiet, just tested the one on the car and it spins fine but is noticeably noiser. So I've just soldered your motor to my board.
There isn't enough room to work on the...
The wiring loom and new speedo cable have been delivered today! So guess what I am going to do the next days! With some luck, I might even get her through TÜV / MOT by months end before our summer vacation! Wish me luck!
When I wanted some bags I read somewhere that there were 3 options from suppliers.
Britpart , cheapest and unbranded in a britpart box.
Britpart with a G after the part number were genuine dunlops in the same britpart box as above. Bit more...
Is the G going to be in the SKU code most likely? Currently looking on JGS. Island have them listed as Dunlop though. Still, time to put my hand in my wallet. Again.
Done a post search and it is this blend motor that was playing up, I fitted a new pot and it was fixed until now. So... either...
1- my soldering leaves a lot to be desired.
2- the new pot has failed.
3- the motor has died.
Question..nano says...
The little legs to the potentiomèter (French keyboard predictive text) get loose from their soldered joints and cause bad feedback relating to their position and can be soldered. It may well be just the case. 👍
I've got one left that I got off kermie then I'm out. I changed a pot a while back but I can't remember if it was this blend motor or the distribution one above it. I'll have to search my posts to see which it was I was whinging about.
Wanna flog...
I was thinking maybe a stiff flap was causing a motor stall and not a blend motor issue at all. But the motor wouldn't run when off the box so that's that. Found a 9v battery for testing tomorrow, unless it's peeing down which is expected...
Hang on - will check my spare heater box in the garage.
Levers fully towards driver, air goes through the heater matrix. Fully towards engine cooled air bypasses matrix.
I thought I might struggle to get at the box lever with the clocks plugged in but it's possible I've discovered. Started her up, ac on and moved the lever one way then the other until I got cold air. Its towards the engine for cold.
The missis...
i can't remember. when mine was broke i put a bit of wire on the tang where the manual cable would have fitted and then wedged it in a gap in the kick panel to stop it moving.
if you're stuck for time, just turn the blower off completely and set...
I've chickened out. I need to pick the missis up in a couple of hours from work, don't need any disasters!
110 is off the road waiting on bits.
I'll wedge the box lever to 'cold' and roughly fit the clocks back so I can still use it. Do you know...
honestly i dont know. never needed to unplug the dash binnacle to touch the blend motors.
however, i think it *should be ok, just as unplugging an airbag (under the seat) while driving doesnt set it off. you will get an error in the system, but...
Decided to brave the heat and strip it down. Question if I may...
I've got the clock cluster unplugged and out. Ign has been off for a couple of hours, is it safe to put the ign on to fiddle with the , now removed, blend motor? Or will the srs go...
Cycling the ign didn't work , then the blower wouldn't speed up then I remembered that I hadn't put 'back to ecu control' on the nano but then the blower speed started to respond without plugging the nano back in again. Might strip it all down...
Cycle the ignition a few times without starting. On mine I can usually hear the motors moving after a while. The docs say it self-
calibrates every X hundred uses, but who knows what the real number is !!
Nano says the pot is duff. I've tried forcing it with the nano but getting no % movements. I remember unplugging the hvac last year, I think, which fixed something that wouldn't work. iirc, all motors were working as they should but the book...
Yes it's the bottom one.
It's a long shot but try unplugging the power to the hvac to force a learn cycle. Failing that, flash the relevant motor terminals with a 9v battery (both ways) to give it a nudge
