I noticed on another thread where someone suspected they had lost sync with the BECM and ECU that they had no "check engine" light come up. I am getting the message come up when I turn the ignition on. Before I give up hope of getting it running again is there any common problems you are aware...

Annoying thing is, it was running fine when I parked it up a couple of years ago. I was hoping I could just put a battery on it and it would run again.

I just tried on my good P38 which everything works on and when unlock is pressed the windows don't open. Therefore I'm thinking my 1997 model won't have that feature either. I will do some do some more investigating and see if I can anything to work. Only want the door open so I can move it and...

How does that work? I know holding the lock button will close all the windows but I wasn't aware you could open windows with the remote as well?

**UPDATE** After a couple of drinks last night I decided I might as well purchase a second NEW Alternator to make sure the first replacement wasn't faulty. So today I purchased a genuine new DENSO alternator from my local car parts shop. An hour later it was fitted and .... NO "alternator fault"...
