Cut it off and bash the new one in and weld it on, if you have the one with the reduced tube size. I would support the tub with a jack and piece of wood when removing the bolts. Don't weld galvanised metal as its bad for you.

A quick internet search will give you plenty of choices, some companies may be near to you, only you know that as you haven't said where you are. There are a lot of peripheral bits that attach a ladder chassis to the body and a lot of parts that...

ER1C replied to the thread Discovery 3 - Is it possible to avoid a moneypit?.
You are going to have to spend to get it good.... then you can maintain it without a money pit ever year. All depends what the start is like but if you spent 5 k on it you could easily spend an extra 5k fixing thing.... BUT you have to see that...

Horses for courses, I will say this... .Morocco is VERY dirty dusty dry, can see the benefit of a clean/quieter tent after a shower for a snooze in. We noticed no change to MPG or speed with a roof tent on when driving to Corsica via Marseille...

ER1C replied to the thread Any advice for novice welder about to stitch new rear cross member to 90 chassis?.
Very good question, my gut says you will have to come from above, I vaguely remember my chap had fuel tank supports etc to replace whilst he did it so there must be space, I think the rear CM curves down at the point they replace it.

You are wise to be concerned and query. Imagine if 2/3 of the weight were at the front on one side it would be on 1 support on the gutter really. But you are also right the feet you have are wider than a lot out there. I would take some...

All good points..... Keep in mind when you are sleeping only "some" weight is on the roof as the ladder supports a lot of it. I would in order. 1. Support the rack fully along the gutter 2. Get as light a rack as possible 3. Even the load on...
