    I already have one at home, just wondered if any one knew the ID (internal diameter) of the bush, as I may be able to find a shaft in the workshop at work.

    Thanks, I'll give this a try, I'll have to find a shaft with a good fit. I was a little concerned when I tried the new spigot bearing on the shaft as there seems to be a little play between the two. ant see the shaft wearing though?? Thanks, For your help.

    Should the rod protude from the arpeture at all, as I have seen an image on the web which shows it an inch or so out, where as mine is about 5mm in, which would explain the fork failure. In rough steps whats the procedure for this change? Thanks, Ian

    Thanks clutchdust, There is no up and down movement just slight rotational play. So guess I dont have to fork out for a new diff! I will invest in a slide hammer tomorrow, and see if I can get the s*it out!! Thanks, Ian

    Hi All, just brought a 300tdi climed under the vehicle to see that the rear prop (3 bolt) flange and diff flange had cracked under shear....this has sent alarm bells ringing.....is there any way of telling if i need a new diff, by rotating it...is there ment to be a few degree's free play...
