    Filter identification

I have a LHD Freelander td4 2ltr diesel manual. Standing infron of the engine bay on the lefthand side between the bulkhead and the engine there is a small white filter on a rubber tube that is not connected to anything. Should it be connected, and if so where? Also can you advise what it is?

Floppy Gear Change. Not easy to find gears

Hi Guys, Thanks for all the advice. I have now got the Freelander and driven it the 120kms home. It drives perfectly and the geat change is actually fine. I think that the new clutch just needs a little adjustment as I neede to push the clutch to the floor to get a smoth and easy gear change.
