For the cost of the hose it's well worth changing as it's not a difficult job either. I was lucky in the fact that I noticed that there was a large oil patch under the car and the auxiliary belt had gone noisy. I assumed the noise was down to contamination but no, it was the power steering...

Thanks folks, had the RAC out this morning who stuck a temp repair on it and just got home with all the oil still in. Parts have been ordered and I'll change the pipe on Monday. Thanks again.

Hi all, currently on holiday in Wales and have a decent oil leak on the disco. Looks like it’s coming from the metal pipe where it’s rubbed against the sump. Any ideas for parts/fixing it/preventing it happening again would be greatly appreciated...

I had a useless local cobbler cut 2 keys from blanks and he ruined both by taking too much off. Ended up taking the casing apart and fabricating the old blades to match the new key casing with a bit of drilling and lots of careful filing. Lesson learned there.

Lubed the hinges and stay on the rear door of the disco 2, stiff as hell and not much better after half a tin of GT85. Will keep spraying over a few weeks to try and work it in prior to degreasing and greasing. Also fitted a dash cam.

I paid around 5k for a 2004 Landmark TD5 a few months ago. Rust free, FSH and a new engine 60k ago (has around 115k on the clock). I thought that was reasonable as some people want top money for ****e. They're really the only affordable Landrover at the moment unless you look at "project"...

25MPG on my TD5 disco, less if I'm thraping or towing. Not bad considering I only get 33ish from my 2 litre petrol Beemer.

I went to a dealer last week and got the EKA and radio code FOC. Was a bit of hard work with the guy on the service counter but got there in the end.

Try ptfe tape. Easy to apply and remove.

No one warned me of this prior to purchase but luckily I can just about afford the 25mpg and DIY nearly all of it. Good advice....
