Ok thanks for the information... I have been told that car needs to be plugged into a diagnostic machine to tell what is going on inside the box...The local Land Rover chaps tell me that the box is a sealed for life system that only needs an oil change at 96,000 miles - If no visible leeks then...

Ok so you think that it may be the level of the fluid then? No leaks on my drive though...

Well it does not seem to like 5th gear much now...but does drop down a gear if you boot it...
