Thanks. Someone else has mentioned that the workshop manual states the tyres as the same size. No info on the rims though. Hoping the Series I want to buy has the 5.5 rims with 7.50/16 tyres. Will have to wait and see.

There are many Series vehicles available in South Africa, but SWB soft tops are scarce, and diesels are scarce. So the combination is scarcer still. The only other SWB with original diesel engine I remember seeing was a station wagon or hard top.

Seller wants R50 000 for it. It is expensive, but has had a lot done to it. Still waiting for an independent mechanic to have a look at it for me. Will maybe negotiate from there. It is rare to find a diesel SWB soft top, which is why I am willing to pay for it.

Thanks Trax. Yes looks like that is the case as the master cylinder was replaced. According to the seller both clutch and brake master and slave cylinders have been replaced. I found elsewhere that the chassis number can be found on the right front spring hanger and inside on the bulkhead...

TD5 on the 110. Still too early to tell if it is a decent engine or not. 300TDi on the Disco 1. Prefer its simpler mechanical (as opposed to TD5 electrical) operation of fuel and injector pump, etc. Although I prefer the TD5 camchain to the 300TDi cambelt!
