I think it is finally sorted i have replaced the injector seals and washers and it seems to have done the trick.Thankyou everyone for your help.

I have checked the wiring and the spacing of the ckp and have fitted new relay and filter.The pump gets louder and louder until it just gives up.Thanks everyone for all the help I will keep you posted

i should get a pump this week I will let you know how it goes

put a new air bleed valve on and new filter and it ran for 4 miles before cutting out I have spoken to the local specialist and he thinks it is the pump so i am going to order one

I would of thought that would show up on the diagnostics ? next time I take it out i might time it and see if it is 3 minutes.Its starting to get complicated now

yep it was the CKP sensor just behind the starter motor I can see a new shiny one

tried all the relays just to make sure but no joy I just cant see what would be cutting the power to the pump.Would there be a failsafe in the ecu that would cut the power for some reason ?

yeah tried swapping the relay but no joy

dissconected the EGR and blanked it off and put a bulb on the fuel pump ander after 1.9 miles the bulb goes out and it stops ?

it was a proper diagnostic machine for landrover thats all he works on he charged me £180 for diagnostic and crank sensor.I havent checked EGR but i will tomorow.Cheers

I have just had the injector washers done 2 weeks ago and the red plug on the ecu is bone dry.I have just driven it and could hear the pump working fine then after1.6 miles the pump stopped.Switched off pumped the pedal 5 times did a purge then it started with no smoke and will last another 1.6...

yep pump is working i have got it fast idling on the drive and its smokey but running as soon as i go for a run it will stop after a mile

I have just tested the wiring to the pump.Turned ignition on had a live for 2 minutes then nothing is this right ?
