Flat spot at 3600 rpm after service...

IT's weird tbh - never had the issue before but then I am guessing the fuel pump wasn't changed and also I did upgrade to the PCV cyclone version and disable the EGR. I might re-enable that and see what happens. Also not sure if it's doing it only when engine is cold... Running very cleanly...

Flat spot at 3600 rpm after service...

So, good news. Replacing the pump has sent the freebie darting like an ungainly fat old swallow again. Much improved and very driveable, jumps away from a roundabout as well as it ever will in sports mode. However, there is an intriguing loose end. I am still getting a flat spot as if there...

Flat spot at 3600 rpm after service...

Thanks chaps. So, an update: I have been ill and at funerals etc so this was the first opp to change the filter. The official one went in, all greased up. put her back together (I've got changing this thing down to an art form now) and took her for a spin. WORSE THAN EVER :D My...

Flat spot at 3600 rpm after service...

Thebpump may have been replaced before (remember the seller saying something) so would rather rule out filter first. Was a 7 quid jobbie so... :) After that I guess pump it is.

Flat spot at 3600 rpm after service...

It was a generic one (bearmach? something like that) and could be the issue. I am not convinced it was the pump as it literally worked two hours before no problems; when I start up to pump is the same as it has always been and I can hear it pumping fuel clearly but not too noisily. When I...

Flat spot at 3600 rpm after service...

I am wondering if the new responsiveness has highlighted a fuel pump deficiency, but it literally never happened before at full acceleration. IT can't have been THAT much worse... Anyone know a good test?

Flat spot at 3600 rpm after service...

So, just completed a full service on the old beastie (2005 td4), oil change and filter, air filter, pollen filter, turbo filter, and fuel filter. I also uprated the PCV to the BMW cyclonic version. I even pipe bypassed the EGR to see what happens... and it's never driven better for the most...

Injectors removed... and now loose barrel on two!!

Hi 2005 Freelander TD4 Auto I've removed the injector that was causing me grief, cleaned the port, fitted another, and put it all back - same with the one next to it. (land rover diagnosed problems with #4, figured I'd clean em all while I was at it). However, when I got to 1&2 they were a...

    Cruise Control revisited!!

So, I took the FL to the local dealers today to get CC activated. After looking at all the possible online threads and "I have done its" from FL1 owners, I checked the loom and ECUs and all that was missing were a couple of switches, duly installed. Nothing happened. No worries - often just...

Tyre/wheel size (I know! But need confirmation on specifics)

I never got around to it... but I know from experience that a rally car like an evo or scooby is best on the real road. Point to point in real world you will thrash alsmot everything else, especially suprcars born only for a track :)

Tyre/wheel size (I know! But need confirmation on specifics)

Um. :) See above post! I could be measurting the wrong part! My "off road" is not very hard as I also need it reliable and smooth for motorway driving to meetings... not quite as demanding as the alps! The UK tends to rarely get total conditions. It's just a grey wet. Snow is white for 5...

Tyre/wheel size (I know! But need confirmation on specifics)

Don't discount the fact that I might be being slightly dim :) however, the closest part of the cup to the wheel accepts most of a finger width nearly to the second knuckle, which isn't far off that. where are you measuring? Remember these are 10mm narrower than your wheels, and the % isn't that...

Tyre/wheel size (I know! But need confirmation on specifics)

Oh I'm sure - but as someone with a history of lumbar problems no other seat and driving position has produced so little pain (or helps keep me awake, TOO much comfort isn't good) on long journeys. Although the lack of seat adjustment is an arse as well, the high position means less pressure on...

Tyre/wheel size (I know! But need confirmation on specifics)

Thanks! it's a good 7ish mm from the look... seems plenty and I've hit a few rough tracks and big dips to test it. All seems legit. Interesting side effect... the Freebo is now BANG ON the actual speed. Before it was out, these tyres show on gps and testing to be exact, so now I know my...
