Either do it as JM suggests, or if you're averse to that - perhaps just turn the steering wheel until you're happy with the toe in on the near side, then use the track rod to adjust the off side. (The near side staying put, as it's 'held in place' by the drag link)

Thanks @Stanleysteamer - but I have managed to get a set from Heathy on the D2 forum.

The figures I posted above, whilst from a 2a (Maybe 7 years older than yours?) show a tow limit for a diesel of 1497Kg. (I presume as it's in official LandRover information it's true.) You're talking about DOUBLE that. What does the VIN plate actually show for the MGTW ? If it's anything less...

BTW when I bought a Super Major - I had it brought home on a low loader - very easy and not terribly expensive!

Presumably it has had the steering stops adjusted for larger tyres to stop them fouling the chassis rails. They are two bolt type things on the front of the hubs that can be altered, if your tyres allow. I replaced mine with a nut and bolt combination to allow adjustments

Torque multiplier, or heavy duty Impact wrench (I now have both!!) It amazed me how easily it took mine off after I'd snapped a 3/4 breaker bar. Whereabouts are you?

Brake & Clutch cleaner has been working really well for me in a little hand spray bottle. You can see the oil dripping off without even agitating it. Order a 5l tin, and it's not too expensive, but also doesn't need water.
