Agree with listerdiesel. Had my Disco 2 with LPG for 7 years with no issues. Regular in time servicing is important for both car and LPG system. Therefore check service history and usual rear chassis for rust

Another vote for 16". My car came with 18" but I quickly bought a set of 16" because the car was so uncomfortable with the 18" on anything but super smooth German autobahns. I hardly ever use the 18" now.

Try sliding a credit card over the top of the cassette in the CD player to trip the micro switch. May solve your problem - worked for me

Sounds very much like filters to me. I have my system serviced every 8000 miles and the difference between old and new filters even at this mileage is remarkable. I full LPG service should sort everything out

I get 20mpg on petrol with my 4.0 V8 Disco 2 and about 18 - 19 mpg when using LPG. But when you consider cost of the fuel (roughly half price of Petrol/Diesel) this give a price equivalent of 38 - 40 mpg against Petrol

Better to find out why it's backfiring. LPG system properly installed on a Disco 2 shouldn't backfire at all. If it has backfired it's probably blown the MAF (Air flow meter between air filter box and throttle body) If this has gone then will probably always backfire - but you need to get fault...
