A couple of the guys on D2BC have fitted that one - apparently just needs the connector on the cable changing for the one from the old fan.

Unfortunately that motor seems obsolete all over the place, i bought one as well about 2 years ago then sent the bad one to a rewinding service and they made it like new for half the price so i keep that for spare.

I Always make a note of where seals are sitting before removing old ones. As the originals would have been there the longest there may be some witness marks left to go by if LR did recess your ones.

Is the axle breather clear?

They won’t be cheap (not silly expensive), but they certainly know their Freelanders, and will 100% be able to sort yours if it’s not something you want to tackle yourself. Sue and Norbert are great guys… and say hello to the dogs!

Sorry for your loss, but you're lucky it didn't spread to the house. I think buy back from the insurance, won't be much, when they see what's left. Fingers crossed, you find another one soon.

Can you take the insurance value and buy the wreck off them? Then at least you can salvage what is worthwhile. Are you sure the chassis is fecked? I can't help but think it'd take a heck of a lot of heat to do that. whatever, best of luck...
