they are legal, but the rules for children sitting in them are a minefield, i believe there ok for occasional use just the same as a kid can sit in the back of your car without a booster if its occasional. check it all out regarding kids and booster and seat belts on the GOV website...

I have one for my heater and it does make a difference, but as already advised if its that crap check cooling sysytem thermostat and seals around the heater matrix, not unusal for the seal to be missing and the matrix full of mud so very little air flow over it

I agree you should claim but there are a couple of probs, first is the lack of a witness second is even if you do claim his insurance and its marked as a non fault, its still a mark against you and will follow you around for 5 years. I found this out recently when i changed bike insurers...
