Clean all the oil around the injectors, run the purge cycle and carefully watch for any diesel leaks around the injectors. In my limited experience leaking injectors doesn't stop it from starting a bad crank sensor or interference from a bad...
Yes, common enough. I did that very job for a mate some years ago. Also many have had drum brake rear axle replaced with later disc brake axle. Box of chocolates as Forrest said.:):)
Drive a bit slower on the motorway.
My son has a 200tdi and 1.2 transfer box. It is fine in most situations but it lightly loaded, lots of steep hills can prove a challenge though.
We stopped on a steep road in Wales once and had to use low...
How about wear in the throttle linkages.. ours would tickover lovely when stationary, take it for a drive and it would be erratic again, all down to worn linkages.

I would sell whatever vehicle you have and buy something decent.
If its a 2a with a cross shaft it's pretty straightforward if I remember correctly. Just gravity bleed ours with no problem, guess you could take the transmission tunnel or floor out if you wanted, pretty straightforward.
It's the seals, they are rubbish, it's quite well documented for years.
We fitted "OEM" both leaked almost straight away. Out of principle I made the supplier refund the money.
Bought 2 NAK seals, damaged one as they are a very tight fit into...
