    Once it starts it's pretty much constant white smoke It pretty much needs to be revved to keep running if I let off the accelerator it winds down and stops - that why I think that the pump timing is off a bit....the smoke seems to be constant regardless of revving

    Yes I did the pump timing with the pin in the side and the arrow lined up with the mark. I have done the timing several times with several methods and I'm now sick to death of it. I'm not doing any more to it for a while....if you've been to the begining of the thread you'll know I've been going...

    I live in spain...you're welcome to drop in for tea!! Unfortunately there were millions of santana built here but so little by the way of forums, parts, mechanics etc. Spain has very little in second hand motors...especially for modification as it is not allowed here!! Cheers

    Yes everything on the list ticked.... All point to defective pump which is wierd as its the only thing on the engine I haven't messed with. Will start saving and see what santa brings...no idea how much a replacement pump is.... Cheers
