Is it possible to use a good 4.6 block and fit 4.0 heads (re-built) and then put the rebuilt engine back in a car with a petrol management system designed to run a 4.0 unit....do you think that the ecu will adjust to run the new configureration.

yes they share the same heads and ecu ,block its crank,rods and pistons that are different

Groovy......that'll keep me busy for a few days then.
I have a block out of my brothers P38 which had an appetite for oil via poorly stem seals and i have located standard re-engineered heads from a company for around £200 so i intend to put them all together with a new oil pump if the old block is not excessivly worn (it had only done 60,000 when we changed it as he wanted a new engine).
Any other pointers gratefully accepted..
