I know that wiper problems have been covered in lots of threads but I can't seem to find the same symptoms as mine.
I have a 1992 90 200Tdi and the wipers did work on intermittent, normal, and fast. Then intermittent and fast gave up.

When I operate them, there is no noise at all from the motor on intermittent or fast.

I tried replacing the park switch but to no avail, and from further reading the fast doesnt use the park switch? I thought about changing the intermittent relay but that wouldn't affect fast wipe either.

So I guess I'm looking for a common factor affecting intermittent and fast. Could it be the stalk?

Sounds like a stalk fault. You could try using a flying lead from the battery to put 12v onto the fast contact at the wiper motor plug and see what happens. If it runs, it proves the fault towards the stalk.
