Was wondering if anyone had encountered this problem. When it's damp in the air if I change from dipped to main beam lights the wipers will come on and the same when I go from main beam to dipped. Is this a normal feature on the td5, it doesn't need to be raining for this to happen.
 
Earth short circuit behind the dash ... had the same thing and traced it back to the washer bottle back feeding an earth. Mine did it while indicating left too but was in a Defender not a Disco.

First of all you need to make sure it's the same fault. You can do this by taking the electric socket off the washer bottle and seeing if it goes away. If it does then there's your problem. I fixed mine by then running a thin earth lead from the washer bottle connector to the bulkhead and fixing with a self tapper and copper grease. Hope that helps. :)
 
Just had a read Andy. That sounded like a nightmare, it was two earths in front of the air box what were lose, but it seems to of sorted it
