Hi chaps, I'm looking into getting a winch. My D1 currently has the below bars on the front:

Is it possible to fit a winch with a standard or fabricated bracket plate to what I already have as I like it how it is?

Thanks

anythings possible if your good at fabrication and have a welder.

me personnally i think its a lot of work it would be easier to get something that is purpose made for the job

You could get a winch tray and fit between chassis rails then cut and shut existing bumper but it all seems a bit of a faff.... for the sake of the ££ for a new bumper.

A Faf I agree, I just like the current look with wrap around headlight guards. My other concern would be making sure it's strong enough to take a winch under load.

Hi Chaps, I've had a look at the above discreet plate from Bearmach for a D1, looks ideal. I'm unsure if it'll fit along with the bull bars as they'll be fixing to the same thing although I guess it depends if its inner or outer. My main query though - is it going to be damaging the winch with rough off-road use or would it be tucked away enough to be ok. Also accessing the winch to lock it or free spool, would this be an issue as it looks a bit tight?

theres your answer...you cant have it all
buy summit fit to do the job than trying to convert summit that was never designed to do the job to then do the job
