my lt77 gearbox has gone bang,

how much of a pain in the arse is it to use the discovery box I have,

I know the bell housings are different is there owt else?

cheers

it can be done, I've done it a couple of times but ages and ages ago - seem to remember that the selector housing on the depender is shorter but swapping one to the other works

tis to sort of job where it pays to dismantle them both side by side laying out the parts in a logical order in the hope that all will become clear at some point

Cheers,

What a lovely start to my holiday:rolleyes:

Got my box out and stripped down the fookin input shaft bearing is in a zillion pieces, so no point swapping it over to the disco box

the 1 gears set, one nearest the bell housing look worn but not chipped or missing teeth guess its has a lot of stick in first gear in its 213k life, rest of it looks fine.

you just going to change the bearing or get a different box ?

Just going to change the bearings and seals, if i get a new box that could be in a worse condiion than the one i have now.

At least i will have a know enterty if i rebuild this one.
