Hello!

I am taking my 300tdi Disco on an overland expedition to Aus later in the year and I am looking into what spares I will need and can feasibly carry. For service items I will look in Heynes but what, if any, failure items should I be looking at taking?
I know the chances of anything failing on a 12year old land rover doing a 20k mile trip are small but I figured between the people on here their is probably experience of every failure imaginable and would know what the most likely are!

Belts, fuses, wheel bearings and proshaft UJ's are the main things to go. It's also worth taking a couple of half shafts as well

I had a CB radio when I drove around Auz, and proved usefull when I broke down in the desert! However the radio frequencies are different over there (at least they were when I was there) ... worth checking?

Make sure you carry plenty of water, a way of rigging some shade and something to lie on if you have to look under your car at the road side... In the heat of the deserts out there the roads get too hot to lie on if you have to look underneath, and you dont want to be doing it in the direct sun!
