Ive got an 87' 90, with 300tdi engine / running gear, and the front axel is meant to have come from a 300tdi defender too,

would the wheel bearings be from 94 onwards? or up to 93??

and how can i tell where my axels have come from?

The actual wheel bearing and race are the same for all, it is the number of oil seals and shape of the lock tab (due to stub axle changes) that vary over time.

oh ok cheers, so really if i buy the 94 onwards and its wrong i can put the old seals etc back in while i get new ones??

Rereading you first post.......94 onwards would cover 300 Tdi axles. So get that kit. There will only be one oil seal in the back of the hub. If you can get that out in a reuseable state then you are a better man than me
