Hello all,

I've just noticed a pipe/tube underneath my beloved P38 and alarmingly, it seems to be coming from the rear axle but going into space! What the hell is it???? It comes from around the centre of the rear axle, runs underneath the fuel tank and then stops. It's not chewed, gnarled or anything. If it was cut then it was cut with a very sharp knife or something.

The pipe is plastic and nice and clean, no oil or any other fluid for that matter dripping from it at all. Nor is it covered in any dried stuff. It is actually quite clean. I've driven it for the last day or so with nothing noticeably wrong but it's a bit worrying when you find a pipe going no where. I know Land Rovers are a bit odd but surely they don't have mystery pipes and tubes. Do they??

Phew! Thanks guys. That will teach me to look underneath. I know my place and it's sitting firmly in the driver seat hanging on for dear life as I attempt to keep it the right way up whilst climbing up and down hills. I promise not to look underneath again. Probably.
