What grade engine oils are folks using in there Landy's.

I'll be doing my 1st change ( since owning my 1986 SWB) in the next week or two.

I've heard good reports about the Difflock Oil.

DIFFLOCK Tools, Servicing & Workshop Equipment

Is the 15W/50 the one to go for, for the 2.5 N/A

Do Castrol still do thicker oils?

Would appreciate your opinions.

Thanks:)

CharlesY and I use universal tractor oil, he used it in a Saab, that covered over 190,000 miles on the stuff and still runs perfectly. Its a good grade of oil and is better than GTX Magnatec etc. It is designed for long use in engines, tractor hydraulic systems etc... where farmers neglect to change their oil.

I use it in my 2.5NA and a 300tdi, and in CharlesY's TD5.

However ONLY use it in your engine, where is calls for ATF put in ATF, where is needs extreme pressue use extreme pressure etc...

You can get it in 20litre drums from agricultural implement shops etc...

The price of this oil is amazing!
210 litres for under the price of diesel fuel!

These universal olis are extremely high quality so they can stand up to the abuse farmers give their machines.

Use with confidence. I use OVOLINE type 586 Universal.

Check it with Google
