The obvious answer is probably A LOT.
1st post so here we go.
Bought a V plate discovery TD5 last November. Since then I have had a world different annoying problems.
1st breakdown. Refused to turn over. Turned out starter motor had blown the fuse able link. Still under warranty fixed for free or so I thought.
2nd breakdown. Same thing happened. Replaced the fuse able link to get to a garage only to find that there was more to it. On inspection the starter motor had unwound itself and needed replacing. £200 later as warranty had expired I was not happy. As this was obviously the fault before and it had been bodged.
3rd breakdown/ problem. Didn't really breakdown this time...Noticed fluid on the drive under the drivers side wheel arch on inspection yes you guessed it ACE pipes. All 4 shot to pieces. £755 pounds later Im back on the road.
4th problem. Fuel filter housing corroded and leaking. Bored and skint I tried a home fix with a second hand part. Who would have thought that two bolts would take up nearly an hour and a half of my life?
5 months into my ownership Im wondering what else can go wrong
The car has a solid service history coming close 176000 on the clock. I had a k reg 200tdi before and loved it. There wasn't anything i would try and fix myself.
