Hello,
we have just acquired a 90 that used to belong to the Peak District NP. It was originally standard blue but was sprayed (by the PDNP?) a silver colour with a hint of bronze.

Anyone any idea what this colour is called for paint buying purposes?

if you take it into anywhere that mixes auto paint they will be able to match the colour using colour cards! :)

Is that right...............if so great ive been trying to get a match for mine for a while and nowhere seems to stock landrover colours....

If only I'd realised it was that simple..................would you advise taking the drivers or passenger door.

If you're planning on driving to B&Q, probably shouldn't take off the drivers door, plod might not take too kindly, and it'll be very breezy...

Passenger door and a billy no mates trip to B&Q I guess then...............will the removed door fit in the back or will I need to borrow a trailer.
 
Id strap it to the roof, and hope it's still there when I arrived at B&Q. Maybe you should get some string to tie it on with.
 
Lifes a bitch. Maybe you could just drive straight up to the paint desk and ask them to get you your string, and wave the colour matching thingy around whilst they're at it?
 
its not the original colour......so how the hell are they gonna find it on the vin??

the guys that mix auto paint use cards to determine the various shades (due to fading etc) to match paint to the car......or just take the fecker to B&Q :doh:

A very good point - and one I overlooked ;).
 
How can you drive without a passenger door mirror? I'd take the drivers door off like one o them Sherpa's where you're allowed to drive with the sliding door open.

It is quite good fun driving without the bonnet on too.
