Stand by for an update, if you are interested that is.
One track mind.Hurry up and post it and yes this is a 4.4.
Did you do anything with the cylinders or was the bottom end ok?
Loosing my touch Andy.Blimey you was a bit slow off the mark there mate![]()
Not THE John got a new motor? Well done John. The bottom end was a total loss with bad scoring in one of the cylinders. So sent the heads away for a skim and rebuild got a bottom end in pulled the sump cleaned the oil pump and rebuilt it. My mate John must take all the credit for the work and saint for a lone of the very expensive locking tool.

I know at least three of the cylinders are compromised but I am interested in the options of liners to try and overcome the problem of these engines being scrapped with any cylinder wall damage.
i am currently investigating Alusil liners rather than the iron / steel options they seem to have their problems, in particular the need for different pistons and rings to stock that run in the Alusil.
if i can overcome the cylinder issues then there is a chance of some form of blower (Not like Alan)
Andy you are an educated man, I trust you have seen how close the bores are on the M62, and also have knowledge of the Nikasil issues with the early M60's?
