Well,

Had a fun few hours,
Changed th rear door lock actuator so that the NSR now unlocks using the central locking, BUT, somehow managed to lose the little metal link between the outside door handle and the actuator??? it has magiclly disappeared..... I have no idea where it has gone, been doing impressions of a Gynecologist looking for it .
So, now am going to have to go hunting in a few breakers for a ponsy small metal link..Darn it.

Fitted the cruise control switches, which should make life a little easier.

Checked a few things under the bonnet, cleaned the MAP, blimey was that gunked up.

Sprayed the EGR up with some nice penetrating spray on all the bolts.

Changed the plastic Cam shaft seal, thing was rattling a good one, what a crappy design.

Finally, checked my ECU red connector , and you guessed it, cover in oil, disconnected the plug at the head and the connector is full of oil ( see photos )

So have to order a new injector loom and rocker gasket, but I can do this when I remove the EGR.

Having fun.

Cheers

IMO better be preventative and replace the injector washers and seals too if you know they are old enough but even if you dont do that at least double check the injectors clearence adjustments... strangely mines were quite missaligned when i've got to them first time without knowing why

Typical,

checking the tyre pressures, had a shufty at the ride height link and the NS bottom attachment ring is broken, Yet another thing to do.

Still saves me getting bored. LOL

Hi mate. All good fun I suppose in a weired way. Can I ask how hard was it to fit the Cruise Control and did you have to have the computer re programmed to accept it.

Tis a doddle, plug and play, you need a steering wheel switch, dash switch and metal bracket and it works straight away
Plenty threads on here about it

Is there wiring for it where the dash switch goes then. Seen one on flea bay I'm watching with both parts you mention.

Yeah bottom right on the steering binnacle behind blanking plug. Also wiring behind steering wheel for the switch there

What Biggee said. LOL

cut out hole in steering wheel shroud,( or purchase a shroud with hole cut in it), fit bracket in steering wheel, fit switch in steering wheel, fit switch in instument binnacle. www.discovery2.co.uk has a good write up.
Very easy to do. All in cost £100.

Longest part is the 20 mins you need to wait after disconnecting the airbag to let in de-energise

Damn, I have no patience , I only waited 15 mins, LOL.

On another note, from my original post, de -egr'd and new injector loom fitted today.
All that leaves me on my current plan is to change the ride height sensor and having looked at the state of the EGR ,I am going to clean the intercooler.

My neighbours must think I am a nutter.

Cheers
