With apologies to all those who have serious problems with their hippos, I would like to bang the drum a bit for the good hippos out there.
Just had mine serviced, new timing belt fitted, new MOT and the whole lot cost me 200 quid. This is the only money I have laid out on repairs or mantainence since last years service and MOT. Got it booked in next week to re-gass the aircon and it will be good as new. ( It's a 51 plate 1.8 petrol). Just thought some of the peeps looking at the forum might want to read a bit of good news about the much maligned Freelander.

Mines a td4 es auto station wagon 2001, 130,000 miles on the clock its cost me a gearbox last year, but apart from that just service parts and trivials...So maybe they aint all bad...
