Good evening folks
So i need to weld the seat belt anchor points for its next MOT.
My first question is this, can i buy replacement anchor points to weld back on to the arch?
Second question is the boot pan, can this be spot welded or does it require a continues weld or could i even get away with pop riveting?
regards

Terry

Boot pan I would say whatever you can do neatly then cover all the joins in sikaflex/pu40 etc

Any welding must be either - the same as the manufacture or if a patch within 12" of a critical point - be continuos welded

Yeah that is what I understand as well for the anchor points etc. It's the boot pan that people appear to have different opinions on

I was reading a post on the series forum the other day where some of the owners had made their floor so it lifts out which must make repairs etc a doddle, obviously water intrusion not such an issue as it is with the disco!

Is the area effected within 12" of a load bearing point ? That will be the issue, or if the vehicle has a seep rate chassis, then 12" from a securing point. If not then a good standard repair is acceptable or may not even be required
