I have a water leak on my 300 tdi engine. It seems to be leaking from between the engine block and the bit behind the water pump. Is this a common problem and if so what gaskets do I need. Thanking you for your help in advance

a complete stab in the dark i know, but i rather suspect that you may require a water pump gasket.

Sounds like the P gasket. Common fault and relatively easy to fix.

Probably 'P' seal but check with a mirror that it isn't coming from under the water pump itself. I changed the 'P' seal only to find I needed a new pump - nothing like doing it all twice.

Sounds like the "P gasket" to me!!!!!
Make sure you do it right or you might have to do it twice like I did aThere is also a core plug to check behind there at the same time.
