Is it neccessary to have the vacuum side of the valve connected i asume it is to open the gate should the inlet get slightly blocked however i would prefer to connect the pressure pipe direct and eliminate the valve.
Indeed it does but my question concerns the valve controling the pressure that is fed to the actuator cylinder perhaps i should mention this is on a td5.
I was under the impression that the engine ECM sent a signal to the regulator / valve to open or close the wastegate. Bypassing this would render the turbo redundant as there would be little if any boost I think.
