Good evening, this is not a great first post, but I will do a proper introduction later and chuck a couple of photos up of the defender.

Last week the clutch on my defender went, I knew it needed doing, but it has unfornunately given up before I have had a chance to collect bits to give it a mechanical sort out. While its apart I would also like to change the box for one that has a lower milage. Mine is a 1995 300tdi which currently has 140k on it so is getting tired.

Does anyone have a good R380 gearbox located in the Dorset region? I will be travelling up to Glouester next week so anything between Dorset and Worcester is considered really.

Again I apologise for this as a first post but I need to get back to the garage to continue stripping down.

I have a slightly dodgy R380 gearbox, however its currently connecting my engine to the propshafts. If anyones got a good R380 in the Yorkshire area I'll take it off your hands, they are really common and only fetch a few quid (I dont think )

I thought it was a long shot, most of them must be pretty knackered by now anyway.

Better get a knackered one to take apart and rebuild then!

why is it allways ashcroft or paddocks theres alot of people doing stuff out there its getting like the magazines ,they do it for free work what do you get ,especially if youve bought new gear box because of faulty govenor

paddocks suck , I didnt even know they did boxes. they are cheap but they suck.
