I have a TD5 Disco 2 (2001) 7 seater
In the boot, behind the rear seats, is a vent grille on each side which leads to a large void space. Presumably for access to unscrew the rear light clusters.

I can't help but think these provide two huge "wasted" spaces which could perhaps be better put to use... before I do - is there any reason not to use them?

Am thinking of using one as a compartment for storing all those "spare" bits that are useful to have out on the road (Spare bulbs, etc) but that dont need to be floating around the cabin. And fitting a 300W inverter in the other.

Much like the D1 I suspect, the wide left hand side houses the rear AC if fitted, the other side will be the vent to the outside which balances the interior air pressure.

Also in the n/s one is the pipe which carries the air from the inlet filter behind the light cluster down to the suspension compressor.
