Hi all,
I recently picked up a 1998 V8i Discovery ES Auto, and on the whole all seems good. There are two main issues that I'd like to sort. If anyone could offer any advice, I'd be very greatful.
1) Engine.
Generaly runs a little lumpily. When you want a quick getaway, it usually stalls slightly before taking off.
Morning starting - 4 days out of 7
On the 'bad' days then engine turns over on the starter, fires a few times, but won't catch. First time I had the problem, called the AA and the guy said it was flooded.
I did a bit of reasearch on the web and found a fix of sorts - when the engine is flooded, stop cranking, foot right down on the gas, then crank 'til it starts. Works every time so far! But I'd rather fix the issue if I can.
Fuel consumption is a total nightmare - much worse than the 4.6 Range Rover that I had a few months ago.
2) Electric seats - On both of the front seats, electric adjustments work in all directions, EXCEPT up and down of the seat base. Any ideas?
Thanks in advance,
Mark
