I'm trying to remove one of the heads due to a blowing HG; however, when I took the valley gasket off, a load of bits fell into the camshaft! Is it best to just take the cam out or totally remove the engine? Any thoughts?

drop the sump ,and wash through with paraffin in a garden spray bottle or similar
