Hi,

I've been reading here and saw many references to opening the doors with a coin, etc... but only tried it myself the other day the first time and dammit... it works. It seems every single key on my key-ring opens that dammed door. On my drivers side door anyway. I asked somebody else and they said they replaced their locks but could still open them with a screwdriver. I've done a few searches and not come up with any "better" replacement locks, but figured they must exist.

I know you can never stop a determined thief, but the current lock won't stop a five year old. Can nothing be done to make my defender at least a little bit more difficult to open without the key?

I had the same problem as you. The dirt, salt & other rubbish gets into the mechanics of the lock. All I did was give it a very good dose of WD40 ( two years ago) and it has been fine ever since.

Mad Hat Man: sorry, I'm missing the reference. Bob it?

hext: I'll definitely give the WD40 a shot

Thanks!
