This has got my head a little baffled.

i wanted to know the difference in the tyres sizes like for example

are 235/85/16 taller than 265/75/16 or the other way round. i want a decent set of tyres on my discovery (when i get it) and just want a decent clearance.

you REALLY want to avoid asking questions like that, they get asked many times a day and are usually met with a torrent of abuse. So try using the search function before asking Q's but this one I'll give you for free.
