hi just put another engine in my disco 300tdi and put the turbo off my old engine on it which was fine. now on the other engine which i put in it is making a high pitched whistle when the turbo comes in i have checked all the pipes and are fine no air leaks anyone got any ideas thanks

I think I had the same issue as you mention. I did some exhaust changes and the last change was fitting a de-cat pipe. As you know, this pipe connects directly to the turbo. After this, I could hear a high whitstle when driving but only when the tubo kicked in.

I have searched the internet for this, but didn't find a good solution. People say, and I think, this is because the flank of the exhaust doesn't fit the turbo that well. I tried a new gasket, but this didn't work. You can try some liquid gasket but I would just wait for some time with that.

The whistling has gone now, after a month or 2. I think the soot of the exhaust gas filled up the little gaps and now it's gone!
