Anyone fitted one out there as the oil seal has gone in mine lots of oil in the intercooler and pipes.

I have not fitted one but I did notice that some of them require that a cartridge is fitted by a qualified mechanic and a VAT receipt is issued as a condition of any warranty.

I was going to fit a cartridge in mine when it went, but taking the turbo apart was almost impossible, 'cos the bearing/bushes had virtually gone, to say nothing of the carbon deposits and general ****e inside .. even though to look at it it looked perfect!! Worth taking the turbo apart and seeing how it goes first, I'd say .. though some refurb/new suppliers like a swap for the old one ..

I'd suggest a replacement 2nd hand turbo, a refurb or a new one ... and I love taking bits apart and fixing them, but it just ain't worth it in my experience.

if your fitting a complete cartridge your only worry is the bolts been seized in exhaust snail housing, and a large pair of internal circlip pliers for boost side housing, i usually have at least one bolt snap but im used to remove broken studs

May leave that for now just doing my p gasket all the bolts where finger tight and lots and lots of sealant. the housing the water pump sits in looks like they used a chisel to remove the gasket!.flushed water system out and got tons of thick white foam out like washing up fluid.

Sometimes, trying to tighten them a little bit might help them come undone - after some "Plusgas" or similar. I am a fan of using new bolts on reassembly too...
